What Happens Next?
When you call to ask about or schedule an appointment, our intake coordinator will connect with you to gather some information about your concerns and goals. You will also learn about us and be able to ask questions about us, such as: what insurances our counselors take, our fees, options for low-income situations, and what to expect. Once the coordinator has this information, a counselor is assigned who will connect with you to arrange to meet with you. Your counselor will also ask you to complete some intake forms that will be necessary for treatment to occur. Your information will be kept confidential, as required by law and professional ethics.
Your counselor will work with you to identify your goals for counseling. As each situation is different, they will also work with you to help identify the frequency of meeting and duration of counseling, as well as describing the approaches and methods they use. Of course, you have the right to agree or not to any of these decisions. More information about expectations in counseling is provided in the Informed Consent document that you will receive prior to beginning counseling.
